Women's Pacific Coast Pants

Highly recommend! Very impressed with the quality, price and Canadian ownership. The sizes fit true to size. The addition of a removable thermal liner is a bonus. As well as the armour being a level 2 protection. Big improvement over most brands with level 1 equivalent. The quality and protection is at a much better price point than the more well known brands. I have the Hi Vis women’s Breeze Jacket as well and look forward to wearing it next summer.

I'm only giving them 2 stars because the sizing is not meant for anyone with curves... I have a 38" waist which is the high side of their large, but my hips are 48" Which sizes me up to an XXL. Sooooo I ordered the larger size, which did NOT work out. From the hips down the fit was decent... but the waist gaped open horribly. These pants did not come with belt loops so couldn't even add a belt to help the gaping. Basically, they need a curvy girl option for their women's wear... not all of us are built like toothpicks.

Women's Pacific Coast Pants

After many years of riding while female, I finally found a pair of riding pants that fit my shape!! Prior to these, I wore chaps for decades, and when it rained, rain pants over the chaps. Good enough, did the job, but.... The first time I rode in my Women's Pacific Coast Waterproof Gryphon pants (made in Canada!) I felt completely different - I felt fully protected! Just having the hip and knee protection made a difference. As do the pockets!! Pockets - yay!! Zip out cool weather lining! I would give it 5 stars, but as a Canadian, I need to be and keep everyone humble ;) My *only* caveat is that, even though I am considered "tall," the pants are about 2 inches too long on me. However, better too long than too short :) But seriously, I absolutely LOVE my Gryphon Women's Pacific Coast Waterproof Riding Pants, and have already begun recommending them to the various women's riding groups to which I belong.

I was shopping for a pair of riding pants to replace my previous pair of Olympia pants. I was looking for a pant that was waterproof (not a zip out liner or overpant), had a removable thermal liner as well as zippered vents for warm weather riding. I was not familiar with the Gryphon brand but saw a few favorable online reviews so decided to take a chance. The Pacific Coast pant has all the features I wanted, including Level II armor (rather than the more prevalent Level I), features quality, heavy duty zippers and appears to be of a strong oveerall quality. The pant is a 'heavy' fabric, meant as a pant to be worn over a base layer, but not as an overpant. My order arrived within seven days (incl. weekend) of purchase. I am 6-1, 210 lb and ordered a size Large based on the size chart. The fit was snug with the liner installed, a bit too snug for my liking and even though the bulk of my riding will be without the thermal liner, I didn't want to sacrifice comfort when it was installed. I notified Gryphon of the issue and they immediately sent me a size XL. That shipment arrived four days later and, in the box, was a return label for the previous pair. Customer service is definitely a priority with Gryphon! I've only had the pants a couple of weeks, but can say early indications are that 1-the pants are a great addition to my riding wardrobe (regardless of price) and 2-when it comes time for another jacket, I won't hesitate to shop Gryphon.
